I got into football betting through the back door, really. Too many Saturdays spent shouting at the telly, too many post-match conversations where I realised I'd called the scoreline before kick-off. About two years ago I started actually writing things down, the games I was watching, what I'd expected versus what happened, where my reads went wrong. I'm Archie Ashford. I'm not going to pretend I've been doing this for decades, but I've logged enough hours staring at fixtures and stat sheets to have something worth saying when the weekend rolls around.\n\nI stick to two markets: Correct Score and Over/Under 2.5 Goals. Correct Score appeals to me because you can't just lean on "the better team will probably win", you actually have to picture the shape of the match, who creates what, who concedes how. Over/Under 2.5 is where I've found the most consistent patterns, once you factor in how managers set up, how teams have been finishing chances lately, and which defences are genuinely solid versus just lucky. Both markets will humble you regularly, and I'm wary of anyone who claims otherwise. I write up tips as my best read of the situation, nothing more, and when a fixture genuinely looks like a 50/50 I'd rather say so than dress it up as a strong play.\n\nWhat I care about most is showing the working. A pick on its own isn't much use, but the reasoning behind it might actually help you think about your own bets differently. You can find my write-ups on BetTips App, covering the leagues I watch closely enough to have a real opinion on. Thanks for reading, and please, only ever stake what you're genuinely fine with losing.
