• Account details — username, email address and a hashed password if you register.
• Communications — messages you send via the Crisp chat widget or feedback forms.
• Subscription data — when you support us via Patreon, your tier and display name (Patreon handles all payment data).

• Patreon — handles VIP membership and all payments. We never see your card details. Our Patreon page.
• Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection and HTTPS termination. Processes IP addresses to keep the site online and secure.
• Crisp Chat — powers the chat icon at the bottom-right. Stores your messages so we can reply.
• Google Fonts — serves typography. May log IP addresses when fonts are fetched.
• Google Analytics — anonymised traffic measurement. IP anonymisation is enabled where applicable.

5 🔐 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers protected by industry-standard measures:

• HTTPS everywhere — all traffic is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+.
• Password hashing — passwords are hashed with bcrypt; we never store them in plain text.
• Brute-force protection — repeated failed logins from the same IP trigger temporary lockouts.
• CSRF tokens — every form submission validates a session token to prevent cross-site request forgery.
• Access control — only authorised team members can access production systems, and access is logged.

8 ⏰ Data Retention

We keep data only as long as it is needed:

• Active accounts — for as long as you continue to use BetTips App.
• Inactive accounts — automatically deleted after 12 months of inactivity.
• Analytics data — aggregated stats retained for up to 90 days, then anonymised or purged.
• Security logs — IP and request logs kept for 6 months for abuse prevention.
• Chat transcripts — kept for as long as Crisp's standard retention applies, typically 6–12 months.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new features, legal updates or feedback. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, post a notice on the homepage. Continued use of BetTips App after changes go live means you accept the revised policy.
